Amongst its many beauties, Vico Equense has an important cathedral , which is a rare example of gothic architecture in the Costiera, and the imposing Castello Giusso castle, build in 1301 by Carl II d’Angiò, who loved staying in Vico Equense. The town however is renowned for its gastronomy products, amongst which the delicious Provolone del Monaco cheese from the Monti Latari. The oil and the tomatoes, basic ingredients for the famous Pizza alla maniera di Vico, unbeatable according to the experts of this wonderful dish.
